## Description

Built in 1952 to serve a mountaintop radar site, Indian Mountain LRRS Airport (IATA: UTO, ICAO: PAIM) still consists of a single 1,279-metre gravel runway and little else. The field belongs to the US Air Force in Alaska's Yukon-Koyukuk area and is closed to public use, with no scheduled flights, no cargo terminal and no customs presence. Since the manned radar station shut down in 1983, traffic has been limited to maintenance crews reaching the now-unattended installation. Hughes, the nearest village, lies about 25 kilometres west-northwest, and like most of interior Alaska the site has no road connection.
