## Description

A runway of more than three kilometres — among the longest in Nigeria — is the defining feature of Ilorin International Airport (IATA: ILR, ICAO: DNIL), yet it sees remarkably little use. Formally named General Tunde Idiagbon International, the airport serves Ilorin, capital of Kwara State, at the cultural transition between northern and southern Nigeria. Overland Airways, Green Africa and United Nigeria fly passenger-only services, mainly to Lagos and Abuja, alongside charter movements; the widebody capability is called on for occasions such as the Hajj airlift, which departed Ilorin from 6 May in 2026.
