## Description

Iberia (IBP/SPBR) is a jungle airstrip in the Tahuamanu province of Madre de Dios, southeastern Peru, set on the Interoceanic Highway between Puerto Maldonado and the Brazilian border at Iñapari. It has no scheduled service, no freight handling and no customs post, so commercial air cargo is not processed here; occasional movements are small aircraft on government, medical or charter flights. The regional economy - brazil nuts, timber, fuel and supplies for border trade - relies on road transport. The nearest airport with regular traffic is Puerto Maldonado (PEM), about 180 km southeast by road, with daily flights to Lima and Cusco.
