## Description

After closing for major airside upgrades, Ibadan's Samuel Ladoke Akintola International (IATA: IBA) reopened to scheduled flights in December 2025 under provisional NCAA approval. Arik Air and Overland Airways are the mainstay carriers. A new cargo terminal is under construction as part of a push toward international operations targeted for June 2026; until it opens, there is no scheduled freight service. Volume shippers therefore use Lagos (LOS), only about 130 road-kilometres south. Ibadan is one of West Africa's largest cities.
