## Description

The Korean People's Army Air Force operates Hwangju Airbase in North Hwanghae Province as a purely military field: it carries no IATA or ICAO code, has no civilian terminal and handles no commercial cargo whatsoever. Any air freight for the region moves through Pyongyang Sunan International Airport (FNJ) roughly 60 km to the north, served mainly by the state carrier Air Koryo, which has progressively resumed Beijing and Vladivostok services since 2023. Sea freight runs over the port of Nampo west of Pyongyang, and overland traffic crosses at Sinuiju–Dandong into China.
