## Description

Húsavík Airport (HZK/BIHU) on Skjálfandi bay in northeast Iceland is best known as the airfield for a whale-watching town rather than as a freight location. Scheduled traffic is currently absent: a state-subsidised winter link to Reykjavík operated by Norlandair ran from December 2024 to the end of March 2025 and has not been resumed since. The airport has no cargo terminal, no customs post and no freight handling agent, so commercial air cargo is not handled here. Goods for the region, including supplies for the industrial site at Bakki and the tourism economy, travel by road on Route 1 or by sea through Húsavík harbour.
