## Description

Shandong Airlines has become the name that matters at Huai'an Lianshui International Airport (IATA HIA, ICAO ZSSH) in Jiangsu: it launched the Huai'an–Osaka international all-cargo route on 1 March under a mixed domestic-continuation loading model and flew the airport's first Boeing 737-800BCF freighter service to Chengdu Shuangliu. Zhongzhou Airlines had earlier opened the first international freighter link, to Hanoi Noi Bai, with a 737-300F. Throughput reached roughly 9,630 tonnes of cargo and mail in 2025, after growth of 72.6 per cent year on year between January and July, against a design capacity of about 13,000 tonnes; a third expansion phase is intended to lift that further. Huai'an sits on the Grand Canal with expressway and high-speed rail links into the Yangtze Delta, and sea freight moves through Lianyungang port some 100 km to the north-east. For forwarders HIA is a less congested alternative to Shanghai Pudong (PVG) and Nanjing Lukou (NKG), with the trade-off of a much thinner route network.
