## Description

Holloman Air Force Base (IATA: HMN, ICAO: KHMN) near Alamogordo in southern New Mexico is run by the US Air Force's 49th Wing, which trains F-16 Fighting Falcon pilots and MQ-9 Reaper aircrew. On 4 June 2026 the wing changed command and moved from Air Education and Training Command to Air Combat Command, a shift meant to tie training more closely to frontline units.
