## Description

Roughly USD 25 million went into Ho Airport (ICAO DGAH) in Ghana's Volta Region, completed in 2021, yet the field has never established sustained scheduled service and holds no IATA code. It has no cargo terminal, no bonded warehouse and no integrator presence. Air freight for the region is consolidated at Kotoka International (ACC) in Accra, about 160 km to the south-west, and trucked onward. Ghanaian carrier Goldstar Air has campaigned for years to revive Ho as a base for cargo, tourism and an industrial zone, and talks with Africa World Airlines have touched on freight, but no binding agreement has been announced. Shippers of yams, maize, vegetables and Volta Lake fish therefore depart from Accra, with Lomé (LFW) in neighbouring Togo, a little over 100 km to the south, as the alternative. For planning purposes Ho is announced infrastructure rather than a working cargo station.
