## Description

Hill Air Force Base (HIF/KHIF) near Ogden, Utah, is home to the F-35A fleets of the 388th and 419th Fighter Wings and to the Ogden Air Logistics Complex, one of the US Air Force's three major depots, and it handles no civil air cargo. The depot overhauls fighters, A-10s and intercontinental ballistic missiles; its material flow runs through military supply chains and is not open to forwarders. Immediately west lies the Utah Test and Training Range, the largest contiguous overland military airspace in the United States. Commercial consignments use Salt Lake City International (SLC) about 55 kilometres south, which handled roughly 295 million pounds of cargo in 2025, around 134,000 tonnes. Delta Air Lines, together with the Utah Inland Port Authority, is investing up to USD 18 million there in a new cargo facility to replace its existing operation. Most goods along the Wasatch Front move by Interstate 15 and by rail in any case, with the inland port sites near Salt Lake City tying rail, road and air freight together. Ogden-Hinckley (OGD) serves business and charter aviation nearby but has no cargo handling of its own.
