## Description

Argentina's Tandil field is shared property: Héroes de Malvinas Airport (TDL/SAZT), about 18 km northwest of the city in Buenos Aires province, operates alongside the VI Air Brigade of the Argentine Air Force on a 2,550 by 48 metre runway. There is no cargo terminal, no freight handling agent and no cargo airline based here, so the airport plays no role in commercial air freight. Civil traffic has most recently been limited to a subsidised regional link to Buenos Aires Aeroparque with 19-seat aircraft routed via Olavarría, which leaves virtually no belly capacity. Tandil is nevertheless an industrial and agricultural centre, with metalworking, farm machinery and food processing shipping by road. Export and import consignments clear through Buenos Aires Ezeiza (EZE), Argentina's air cargo gateway roughly 350 km away by truck, with Mar del Plata (MDQ) some 170 km away as a secondary option. For sea-air combinations the port of Quequén-Necochea is within reach.
