## Description

The goods that built Helena came out of the ground: prospectors struck gold at Last Chance Gulch in 1864, turning the camp into Montana's capital. Today Helena Regional (IATA: HLN, ICAO: KHLN) is chiefly a government and airline airport — about 201,800 passengers in 2024, up 13% — and home to the Montana Army National Guard's aviation battalion flying Black Hawk and Chinook helicopters; heavy military airlifters such as the C-17 or C-130 use the runway from time to time.
