## Description

HDG is one of the few IATA codes serving southern Hebei, yet Handan Airport remains a passenger operation: routes to Shanghai, Chongqing and Guangzhou, freight only as belly load, no cargo terminal or customs clearance on site. The surrounding region is one of China's densest steel-producing areas, and its heavy output moves by rail and truck.
