## Description

HFT and ENHF identify Hammerfest Airport, the air link for one of Europe's northernmost towns and for the Barents Sea oil and gas industry. On nearby Melkøya island, Equinor's Hammerfest LNG plant — Europe's first large-scale LNG export facility — liquefies gas from the Snøhvit field. Since 2025 Widerøe is the sole scheduled carrier, flying Dash 8-100 turboprops up to eight times daily to Tromsø plus public-service routes across Finnmark, with freight carried in the belly.
