## Description

On a gravel strip on the Melville Peninsula coast, Hall Beach Airport (YUX) is the year-round air link for the Inuit community of Sanirajak in Nunavut, Canada. Built in the 1950s as the FOX-MAIN radar site of the DEW Line, it is now served by Canadian North, which flies in mail, food and urgent goods where no road network exists. Heavy and bulky freight instead arrives by the annual summer sealift by ship. There is no freight terminal or commercial forwarder cargo here; regional consolidation runs through Iqaluit (YFB). The air connection remains essential to keeping the community supplied.
