About 1.86 million passengers passed through Hakodate Airport (IATA: HKD, ICAO: RJCH) in fiscal 2024, twelve per cent more than the year before, yet its freight role remains a narrow one: same-day seafood in the holds of JAL and ANA flights to Tokyo-Haneda. Squid, sea urchin and crab from the Tsugaru Strait dominate the tonnage, accepted at a compact domestic cargo shed with an ANA Cargo counter.
