## Description

A completely new passenger terminal, opened in 2023 after an unusually fast construction phase, repositioned Gwalior's Rajmata Vijaya Raje Scindia Air Terminal (GWL) on India's domestic map. The airport shares its runway with Maharajpur Air Force Station, long famous as a Mirage 2000 base. Domestic flights connect the Madhya Pradesh city with Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru and other metros, while the mighty Gwalior Fort draws steady tourism. There is no dedicated cargo terminal and no meaningful freight handling. Forwarders route regional shipments by road along NH-44 to Delhi (DEL), about 320 km north, or to Indore for central-India distribution.
