## Description

Some 1,700 metres above sea level, on the edge of the Liupan Mountains, GYU handles a modest schedule of flights to Xi'an, Yinchuan and a handful of other cities. Cargo plays virtually no role: Guyuan Liupanshan has no freighter service and no dedicated cargo terminal. Air freight for southern Ningxia — including produce from the potato and cattle farming districts around Guyuan — routes through Yinchuan Hedong (INC) or Xi'an Xianyang (XIY). The G70 and G85 expressways tie the city into the road networks of Lanzhou, Xi'an and Yinchuan.
