## Description

A 3,100-metre runway now able to take a Boeing 767 signals Gulu Airport's (ULU) push beyond regional service in northern Uganda. Ahead of the 2027 Africa Cup of Nations, the field is being raised to international standard, complete with a planned cargo complex. For now scheduled traffic is mostly regional, and with no active freighter services in place, exports still move via Entebbe roughly 330 km to the south. Once the cargo facilities open, Gulu could handle the north's agricultural exports directly.
