## Description

Sitting around 1,100 metres up on the Guizhou plateau in mountainous southwest China, Guiyang Longdongbao (KWE) is the province's principal airport. In 2025 it handled roughly 119,000 tonnes of cargo, up 11.9 percent, alongside 22.7 million passengers. February 2025 marked its first international freighter services, with Tianjin Air Cargo flying Boeing 737-800F aircraft of about 21 tonnes each to Yangon and Dhaka. Outbound loads are dominated by garments, fabrics, flowers and electronic components, while inbound shipments bring seafood such as crab and eel. Customs clearance runs through the Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, China's first bonded international land port and a cross-border e-commerce pilot area. A 240-hour visa-free transit policy supports inbound flows. For larger intercontinental volumes, forwarders still route via Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Chongqing. High-speed rail and expressways cut through difficult terrain to link Guiyang with Chongqing and the Pearl River Delta, while the region's growing data-centre sector lifts demand for fast hardware shipments.
