## Description

In February 2025 Guiyang Longdongbao (KWE/ZUGY) launched its first international freighter routes, to Yangon and Dhaka, flown by Tianjin Air Cargo using Boeing 737-800F aircraft of about 21 tonnes each. The main airport of mountainous Guizhou province in southwest China sits around 1,100 metres above sea level and handled exactly 119,268 tonnes of cargo in 2025, up 11.9 percent, alongside 22.7 million passengers. The roughly 21,000-square-metre cargo terminal, equipped with cold-chain storage and automated sorting, is rated for an annual capacity of 220,000 tonnes. SF Airlines and China Postal Airlines are the leading domestic cargo operators, mainly carrying perishable Guizhou products such as tea, electronic components and e-commerce parcels. Outbound loads also include garments, fabrics and flowers, while inbound shipments bring seafood such as crab and eel. Customs clearance runs through the Guiyang Comprehensive Bonded Zone, China's first bonded international land port and a cross-border e-commerce pilot area, supported by a 240-hour visa-free transit policy. For larger intercontinental volumes, forwarders still route via Guangzhou, Shenzhen or Chongqing. High-speed rail and expressways cut through difficult terrain to link Guiyang with Chongqing and the Pearl River Delta.
