## Description

Far from a logistics centre, Gudauta — also known as Bambora or Bombora — is a military air base on the Black Sea coast of Abkhazia, a territory outside Georgian government control. It hosts no scheduled or cargo flights, holds no official IATA or ICAO codes, and offers neither civilian handling nor a customs post. Civil aviation in Abkhazia now centres on Sukhumi Babushara, reopened in May 2025, but that airport serves Russia only: Georgia obtained the withdrawal of its codes at ICAO, which rules out international flights and with them any regular air cargo.
