## Description

Guayaramerín takes its place on the Río Mamoré, facing the Brazilian town of Guajará-Mirim across the water in Bolivia's Amazon lowlands. Its airport — officially named after Ernesto Roca Barbadillo and coded SLGM, some five kilometres south of town, replacing the older riverside field SLGY — is served by EcoJet alone, with flights to Trinidad, Cochabamba, Santa Cruz and La Paz. There are no scheduled freighters, no cargo terminal and no air-cargo customs post; trade with Brazil crosses by ferry and land border rather than by air. Urgent or higher-value consignments travel as belly cargo or overland via Riberalta and Santa Cruz. Bolivian air freight is consolidated at Viru Viru in Santa Cruz (VVI), the country's cargo gateway, with El Alto in La Paz (LPB) as the alternative.
