## Description

Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN/ZGGG) handled about 2.44 million tonnes of cargo and mail in 2025, putting it back among the world's ten largest cargo airports. FedEx runs its Asia-Pacific hub here, joined on the apron by UPS, Etihad Cargo, CMA CGM Air Cargo, Korean Air Cargo, Lufthansa Cargo and Air France Cargo. China Southern Airlines is based at the airport, adding belly capacity to the freight offer. Typical exports are electronics, apparel and e-commerce parcels from the Guangdong manufacturing belt, cleared through bonded zones and express lanes of the Guangdong free-trade zone. As part of the ongoing Phase III expansion, a new international Cargo Terminal 3 is coming online, gradually lifting cargo capacity further. Since the start of 2026 Baiyun has launched or strengthened 14 international passenger and cargo routes, 13 of them linked to Belt and Road partner countries. In June 2026 industry representatives met in Guangzhou for the IATA Cargo Day North Asia conference to discuss digitalisation and cross-border logistics cooperation at the site. Expressways, metro and high-speed rail link the airport to Guangzhou, Foshan and the wider Greater Bay Area. For forwarders, Baiyun remains southern China's principal air freight gateway.
