Where San José's airport runs on cargo, Liberia's runs on holidaymakers. Daniel Oduber Quirós International Airport, also known as Guanacaste Airport, sits 11 kilometres west of Liberia in Costa Rica's dry Pacific northwest and is the country's second-busiest airfield.
