## Description

Grissom Air Reserve Base (GUS/KGUS) near Peru in northern Indiana is military first and civil second — but it is genuinely both. The 434th Air Refueling Wing flies the Air Force Reserve Command's largest KC-135R Stratotanker fleet from a runway built for Strategic Air Command bombers, alongside Army and Marine Corps reserve units. A joint-use agreement signed in 2008 opened the runway to civilian movements, handled by the Grissom Aeroplex, which offers general aviation and charter flying plus industrial space on the field.
