## Description

Regional Express (Rex) is the only scheduled operator at Griffith Airport (GFF/YGTH) in New South Wales, flying Saab 340 turboprops to Sydney; belly space on those aircraft is the sole routine air freight option. The field is owned and run by Griffith City Council, lies about four kilometres from the town centre and serves the Murrumbidgee irrigation district, a producer of wine, citrus, rice and vegetables. There is no freight terminal, no freighter handling and no customs post, so export clearance and international air cargo are handled at Sydney (SYD). Occasional charter flights carry freight and general aviation traffic, but they do not amount to a scheduled cargo service.
