## Description

Kaluga (Grabtsevo) Airport (KLF/UUBC) is a passenger field with almost no freight function: around 119,700 travellers passed through in 2024, and even at its 2019 peak the airport handled only about 645 tonnes of belly cargo. Reopened in May 2015 after fourteen years of closure, it is served by Azimuth, Severstal and UVT Aero on mainly domestic Russian routes. Reliability is a real constraint: flights were suspended at short notice several times during 2026, including in February, May and June, on flight-safety grounds, after comparable closures in December 2023 and December 2024. Air freight for the Kaluga industrial region and its automotive and supplier plants therefore routes through the Moscow airports, chiefly Sheremetyevo (SVO) some 190 kilometres to the north-east, with Vnukovo (VKO) as an alternative. Road feeder services along the M3 highway carry the pre-carriage. For forwarders, KLF is not a standalone cargo point.
