## Description

Londrina's case for cargo rests less on freighters than on customs: Governor José Richa Airport (LDB/SBLO) has run an international cargo terminal (TECA) since December 2008, letting shippers in northern Paraná clear import and export consignments inland. In January 2025 operator CCR Aeroportos handed over an expansion worth around 200 million reais, which lengthened the runway by 150 metres and grew the passenger terminal from 8,500 to 11,500 square metres, lifting capacity to 3.5 million passengers a year. No regular freighter operation is confirmed; air cargo mainly travels as belly load on scheduled flights to São Paulo for onward long-haul connection. The surrounding farm belt — coffee, soy, poultry and food processing — supplies the export-ready volume that sustains the airport. The BR-369 and BR-376 highways link the site to the seaport of Paranaguá and the Curitiba industrial region, and road feeder services carry most of the pre- and on-carriage. For intercontinental shipments, Guarulhos (GRU) and Viracopos (VCP) remain the reference gateways; an ILS installation at Londrina has been announced.
