## Description

Aerolíneas Sosa keeps its home base at Golosón (LCE/MHLC) in La Ceiba, a Caribbean-coast airport that handled 186,570 passengers in 2023 and virtually no dedicated air cargo. Together with CM Airlines and Cayman Airways it serves Roatán, Guanaja, Puerto Lempira, San Pedro Sula, Tegucigalpa and Grand Cayman. The 2,950-metre asphalt runway takes regional jets, but freight travels in passenger holds only — there is no cargo terminal and no freighter service. A multi-year rehabilitation programme worth roughly 99 million lempira running to 2029 has enlarged the international arrivals hall and patched runway, taxiway and terminal; a second apron-repair phase is programmed for 2026. The airport now officially also carries the name of the La Ceiba musician Guillermo Anderson. Forwarders consolidate larger or time-critical shipments at Ramón Villeda Morales in San Pedro Sula (SAP), some 200 road kilometres west, where customs clearance takes place and the link to the seaport of Puerto Cortés sits; Roatán (RTB) is only an option for island traffic. Locally LCE matters as the mainland gateway to the Bay Islands and Pico Bonito National Park.
