## Description

Scandinavia's largest container port lies just 25 kilometres down the road – a fact that shapes everything about Göteborg Landvetter Airport (IATA: GOT, ICAO: ESGG). Western Sweden, home to Volvo and AstraZeneca, is the country's export heartland, yet most of its freight leaves by sea through the Port of Gothenburg or rolls on RFS trucks to Copenhagen, Amsterdam and Frankfurt. What flies from Landvetter – around 14,000 tonnes a year and the country's second-highest figure, up five percent in 2025 – is therefore the time-critical share: automotive parts, pharma shipments, urgent project freight. Express and courier operators are present on the field, and the growing Landvetter Logistics Park is building a dedicated freight cluster around the airport. Passenger traffic stands at a good five million a year, second in Sweden behind Stockholm Arlanda, and grew by almost two percent in 2025 with nine new routes added. Road access is direct via national route 40 between Gothenburg and Borås, about 25 kilometres east of the city centre and the port. A rail link does not yet exist, though one is under discussion as part of the planned Gothenburg–Borås line.
