## Description

San Miguel Corporation, through its subsidiary Trans Aire Development Holdings, holds a 25-year concession to run Godofredo P. Ramos Airport (MPH, ICAO RPVE) at Caticlan, the closest airport to Boracay. Under that concession the runway has already grown from 950 to 1,700 metres — enough for A320 and Boeing 737-900 jets — with an extension towards 2,100 metres planned, while a new two-storey terminal of roughly 9,180 m² is intended to lift capacity towards seven million passengers a year, targeted for 2026-2027. Scheduled services are flown by AirSWIFT, Cebu Pacific and Philippine Airlines from Manila and Cebu, feeding visitors to the Caticlan Jetty Port and the short ferry crossing to the island. The airport has no cargo terminal, bonded warehouse or freighter handling; what little air freight moves does so as belly cargo on those domestic flights. Consignments for Aklan and northern Panay are therefore routed via Kalibo (KLO), some 70 kilometres south-east, or consolidated at Manila NAIA (MNL) or Cebu Mactan (CEB). For forwarders, MPH is a passenger gateway whose international ambitions are worth tracking, not a freight address.
