## Description

Busy does not mean freight-capable: Gloucestershire Airport (GLO, ICAO EGBJ) at Staverton, between Gloucester and Cheltenham, handles tens of thousands of movements a year and still offers no cargo facilities. Its traffic comes from flight schools, private owners and business aviation across three runways, the longest 1,419 metres, alongside based police and air-ambulance helicopters and several maintenance and charter operators; there are no scheduled passenger services. Air freight from Gloucestershire is therefore trucked to Bristol (BRS, roughly 70 km) or Birmingham (BHX), with Cardiff (CWL) an option for consignments moving west into Wales.
