## Description

GGW is the code for Glasgow Valley County Airport (Wokal Field) in Montana's remote north-east, owned by the City of Glasgow and Valley County and operated by the county. Cape Air serves it under the federal Essential Air Service programme with flights to Billings seven days a week, on a contract running from 1 January 2024 to the end of 2027; in the year to May 2023 the field logged about 8,230 aircraft movements, mostly general aviation and air taxi. Two asphalt runways of roughly 1,525 metres each take regional and business aircraft, but there is no cargo terminal, no customs post and no freight handler, so capacity is limited to what fits in a small commuter aircraft. Time-sensitive consignments for the Hi-Line therefore clear through Billings Logan (BIL), Montana's largest airport some 430 road kilometres south, or travel by truck along U.S. Highway 2.
