## Description

Cargojet, FedEx, UPS, DHL and Purolator all matter to shippers near Gimli — but none of them serve Gimli itself. The Industrial Park airport (YGM / CYGM) on the west shore of Lake Winnipeg is a former RCAF training station whose long runways now host flight schools, general aviation and the Gimli Motorsports Park, and which entered aviation history in 1983 when an Air Canada jet glided in without fuel as the "Gimli Glider".
