## Description

Sand seas, Tuareg settlements and the rock art of the Tadrart Acacus surround a runway that currently sees almost no traffic: Ghat Airport (GHT / HLGT) in Libya's far southwest, about 18 kilometres north of the district capital and close to the Algerian border. The field is cleared for domestic and occasional international flights, but flight databases list no airline serving it, and arrivals in practice require prior permission. No dedicated cargo terminal, cold chain or dangerous-goods capability is confirmed here, so air freight exists only as belly loads on individual charter, government or relief flights.
