## Description

Sand seas, Tuareg caravans and the prehistoric rock art of the Tadrart Acacus set the scene around Ghat Airport in Libya's far southwest, just east of the Algerian border. The field sits about 18 kilometres north of Ghat, the district capital, and is rated for domestic and occasional international traffic. Activity today is very sparse and rises or falls with security conditions in the south. It carries no air freight of its own; regional shipments consolidate at Sabha, southern Libya's main airport, for onward carriage to Tripoli.
