## Description

The code GBB belongs to an airport whose infrastructure outstrips its timetable: Gabala in northern Azerbaijan offers a 3,600-metre runway able to take wide-body aircraft, yet only a handful of routes, essentially Baku, Moscow and Abu Dhabi. Opened in 2011 on the southern slopes of the Greater Caucasus, it exists mainly for tourism to the ski resorts and heritage sites around Gabala.
