3,570 metres of runway, a 324-square-metre cargo hall and an expansion planned to reach 3,800 square metres: Frans Kaisiepo Airport (IATA: BIK, ICAO: WABB) is the fisheries loading point of Biak in Indonesian Papua. Lobster, grouper and shrimp leave in the bellies of scheduled aircraft bound for Jakarta, Denpasar, Makassar, Sentani and Surabaya, and no scheduled freighter service operates. Operator Angkasa Pura puts present capacity at roughly 20 tonnes inbound and 12 tonnes outbound per day, with the expansion adding two five-tonne cold rooms and a 60-square-metre transhipment store. The runway takes Boeing 747 and Airbus A330 wide-bodies, a legacy of the years when Garuda Indonesia called at Biak on its trans-Pacific service to the United States. Indonesia withdrew the airport's international status in April 2024 under Ministerial Decree 31/2024 and restored it in 2025 through Decrees KM 37 and KM 38; Airnorth added a Darwin-Biak link at the end of September 2025.
