## Description

Furniture, ceramics and white goods pour out of Foshan's factories, yet none of it leaves by air from Foshan Shadi (FUO): official statistics record zero tonnes of airport freight throughput for 2025. The dual-use airbase in Nanhai District is a passenger facility – China United Airlines opened a new terminal in December 2024, and Asiana links the city with Seoul. Forwarders therefore truck shipments roughly an hour down the expressway to Guangzhou Baiyun (CAN) or Shenzhen Bao'an (SZX), the Pearl River Delta's main cargo airports. Change is coming: construction of the Pearl River Delta Hub Airport began in Foshan's Gaoming District in March 2026, with a design capacity of 300,000 tonnes of cargo a year by 2035.
