## Description

One of the oldest documented communities in the Northwest Territories, Fort Resolution grew from a late-18th-century fur-trade post on the south shore of Great Slave Lake, near the Slave River delta. YFR today handles charter, resupply and medevac flights rather than scheduled cargo. The all-weather Highway 6 from Hay River carries most goods overland. Forwarders consolidate any air freight at Yellowknife (YZF) or Hay River (YHY).
