## Description

Offshore helicopters, not airliners, set the rhythm at Florø Airport (IATA: FRO, ICAO: ENFL) on the coast of Vestland county in western Norway. Bristow serves the North Sea fields Snorre, Visund, Gjøa and Knarr from here, CHC Helikopter Service operates an AS332 Super Puma on search-and-rescue duty for the Royal Norwegian Air Force's 330 Squadron, and Equinor has awarded the future crew-change flights from Sola and Florø to Lufttransport RW AS, with five Leonardo AW189 machines due from 2026 onwards. Scheduled traffic is flown by regional turboprops, mainly towards Bergen and onward to Oslo, so any freight travels as belly cargo. There is no cargo terminal, no freighter handling and no dedicated air-cargo customs post; Norway sits outside the EU customs territory, so shipments from the EU still require a customs declaration despite the EEA agreement. The region's seafood and shipyard businesses therefore truck their air freight along the E39 coastal corridor to Bergen Flesland (BGO) some 150 kilometres to the south, or as far as Oslo Gardermoen (OSL) for intercontinental salmon exports. Ålesund Vigra (AES) is the alternative to the north.
