## Description

Fernando de Noronha is a tourism destination, not a freight node: the UNESCO-listed archipelago some 350 kilometres off Pernambuco caps visitor numbers and levies an environmental tax. Its airport (FEN) is served only by passenger airlines, with Gol, LATAM and Azul flying in from Recife (REC) and São Paulo Guarulhos (GRU). There is no cargo terminal or handling operation. The island is supplied by ship from Recife and by belly capacity on scheduled passenger flights, so forwarders treat the mainland hub at Recife as the relevant air gateway. Strict environmental rules deliberately limit both traffic and goods flows to the marine national park.
