## Description

On the western shore of Panay, roughly 100 road kilometres from Iloilo City, Evelio Javier Airport (EUQ/RPVS) at San Jose de Buenavista is the only airport in the Philippine province of Antique. Run by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines, it has a single 1,800-metre runway 18/36 and about six weekly flights, all of them Philippine Airlines services to Manila (MNL) some 426 kilometres northeast. Because traffic is purely domestic, there is no cargo terminal, no handling agent and no customs post on the field. Belly space on the Manila flights can carry small consignments at best, so freight from Antique is trucked east to Iloilo International (ILO) or moves by sea through the ports of Iloilo and Dumangas with ferry links to Luzon and Negros. An upgrade programme for the airport began in July 2024, covering terminal and runway facilities. For anyone shipping to or from this sugar, rice and fishing province, the realistic air routing is Iloilo or Manila plus a road leg.
