## Description

Coal, oil and the Boundary Dam power station drive the economy around Estevan, yet almost none of that freight ever touches Estevan Airport (YEN/CYEN). The city-run field about five kilometres north of town on Highway 47 has a main runway of roughly 1,524 metres plus a shorter crosswind strip, and carries no scheduled passenger service at all. Business aviation, charters, air ambulance flights and industry support movements make up the traffic. There is no cargo terminal, no handling agent and no customs post for air freight here, so consignments move roughly 200 road kilometres northwest to Regina International (YQR) and onward through Calgary (YYC) or Winnipeg (YWG).
