## Description

Around 50,000 aircraft movements a year make Eros (IATA: ERS, ICAO: FYWE) Namibia's busiest airport by traffic, ahead of the international gateway at Hosea Kutako. Sitting just 5 km south of central Windhoek, Eros is the hub of Namibian general aviation: charter operators such as Westair Aviation, Scenic Air and Wilderness Air fly fly-in safaris, air-ambulance missions and domestic routes to Lüderitz and Oranjemund, often on Cessna 210s. It has no commercial cargo handling and is built for light charter and private aircraft. International air freight for Windhoek moves through Hosea Kutako International Airport (WDH), about 45 km east, the country's only intercontinental airport with cargo capacity. For forwarders, ERS is a base for safari, medevac and government flights, not an air-cargo point.
