## Description

Elazığ Airport (IATA: EZS, ICAO: LTCA) in eastern Anatolia crossed the one-million mark for the first time in 2025, handling 1,104,710 passengers on roughly 9,300 aircraft movements against a stated annual capacity of 2.5 million. The state operator DHMI runs the field, and AJet, Pegasus and SunExpress link the city mainly with Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir. There is no cargo terminal, no freighter service and no dedicated air-freight customs post: the 9,492 tonnes DHMI reported for January to November 2025 combine cargo, mail and passenger baggage and therefore say little about genuine freight throughput. Regional consignments — marble and chrome ore from the province's quarries, farm produce from the Keban reservoir area, industrial and mining spare parts — travel as belly freight on domestic flights to Istanbul or simply go by truck. For international air cargo, Istanbul (IST) is the decisive Turkish hub, while Gaziantep (GZT), about 350 kilometres away, serves south-eastern flows; good trunk-road access makes road feeder services to both the normal solution.
