## Description

Hurricane Iota rewrote the story of El Embrujo (PVA/SKPV): the Category 5 storm hit Providencia in November 2020 and destroyed or seriously damaged some 98 percent of the island's buildings, terminal and runway included, and the airport's rebuilt two-storey passenger terminal was substantially complete by late 2023. What it still is not, is a freight facility — a single asphalt runway of 1,290 by 18 metres (17/35) just above sea level limits traffic to the small turboprops SATENA and Searca fly, almost exclusively on the shuttle from San Andrés (ADZ) roughly 90 km to the south. No cargo terminal, cold-chain capacity or dedicated customs post for third-country consignments is documented. Goods reach the island by sea or trans-shipped through San Andrés. Forwarders should route shipments for Providencia through the San Andrés sea-and-air corridor, entering Colombia from Europe at Bogotá El Dorado (BOG).
