## Description

The Chocó is one of the wettest, most road-poor corners of South America, and El Caraño (UIB) is the supply line that keeps Quibdó connected to it. Sitting on the edge of the departmental capital, the airport handles regional passenger flights operated mainly by SATENA and Clic Air toward Medellín and Bogotá. Belly cargo is limited to general goods – foodstuffs, fish and consumer items – rather than scheduled freighters. UIB has no customs cargo terminal of its own; export and international air freight move through José María Córdova (MDE) near Medellín. For forwarders it is best treated as a regional feeder rather than a freight gateway.
