## Description

The 354th Fighter Wing is the operator that defines Eielson Air Force Base (EIL/PAEI): its F-35A squadrons, delivered from 2021, work off a 4,428 m runway, among the longest military strips in the United States and built for heavy fuel loads and icy Arctic conditions. The base lies about 42 km south-east of Fairbanks on the Richardson Highway and hosts RED FLAG-Alaska several times a year, drawing US and allied units into training airspace larger than several US states.
