## Description

With barely 100 residents, Little Cayman is served by Edward Bodden Little Cayman Airfield (IATA: LYB, ICAO: MWCL), one of the smallest scheduled fields in the Caribbean. Cayman Airways Express connects it to Grand Cayman and Cayman Brac with Twin Otter turboprops carrying about seven passengers on the route. In April 2026 the Cayman Islands government decided to upgrade the airfield in place rather than relocate it, widening the runway to meet safety and certification standards and end years of regulatory exemptions; there is no plan to extend it for larger aircraft. No cargo terminal, handling agent or customs post exists here. Goods reach the island as accompanied baggage or by sea, while larger consignments and Cayman Islands customs clearance are handled at Grand Cayman (GCM) and distributed onward to the Sister Islands. The airfield exists chiefly to serve the dive and eco-tourism trade around Bloody Bay Wall.
