## Description

The 919th Special Operations Wing — the only special operations wing in Air Force Reserve Command, reporting to Tenth Air Force — is based at Duke Field (IATA: EGI, ICAO: KEGI), the military field known as Eglin Auxiliary Field 3 about five kilometres south of Crestview in Okaloosa County, Florida. Its crews train in aerial refuelling and in moving personnel and supplies for Air Force Special Operations Command; this is military flying, and there is no civil scheduled or cargo service. No commercial freight handling, handling agent or customs facility for civilian shipments exists on the field, and access is by military authorisation only. Civil air freight in the Florida Panhandle is handled instead at Destin-Fort Walton Beach (VPS) and Pensacola (PNS), each roughly an hour away by road. For intercontinental shipments and genuine freighter capacity, forwarders truck on to Atlanta (ATL) via Interstate 10 and I-65.
